It’s not very often I see a first-gen Boxster, and in such good shape, so I thought I’d share. That is all. EDIT: Manual transmission, in case that matters.

I actually want one of these. I used to not like them, but they’ve grown on me in the past year. There’s one that just showed up at a sketchy buy-here-pay-here place that’s on my commute to work, so now I have to see this poor red 986 staring at me every single day.

I don’t see them as much as the newer ones, but I still see plenty of them.

I want one too. There’s a really eye pleasing green one that travels around locally.

I saw a black one DD’d by a military guy frequently last year. Haven’t seen it since December or so. If I got one it would either be black, green or silver.

I’m with you, I still see quite a few, but most are in terrible shape.

I was 12 in 1996 when the 986 first came out. There was a house along my walk home from school that had a purple one parked in the driveway most days. In a sea of tan Camrys, forest green Explorers, and blue Volvos, it was by far the coolest car I saw on a regular basis. Since then, I've always wanted one. Now, I can afford one, but my wife hates them and wants me to get a VW Cabrio instead.
